This super simple cranberry sauce is made with just four simple ingredients and will have you wondering why you ever thought of buying the canned kind in the first place!
CRANBERRIES contain Vitamin C, which has been shown to help maintain healthy skin and muscles and antioxidants, which have been shown to help protect cells from damage caused by oxidative stress.
SEA SALT contains sodium chloride, which has been shown to help balance body fluids.
Salted Citrus Cranberry Sauce
INGREDIENTS
3 cups whole cranberries
3 cups water
4 tbsp date syrup (or dark maple syrup)
1/4 tsp flakey sea salt - I love SALTERY's Duxbury Salt!
1 tsp ground thyme
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tbsp orange juice
to taste fresh lemon juice
METHOD
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pot, bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to medium.
Simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until berries are easily mashed with a whisk.
Remove from heat and finish with fresh lemon juice and additional sea salt to taste
